A Living Wage for London
The UK living wage rate is £7.65, for London £8.80.
Mayor's Living Wage Unit's report on workers earning less than its poverty threshold and also its living wage (both of which are higher than the government's National Minimum Wage). The 2010 Report shows that despite some advances there is still a long way to go before all Londoners are paid a decent wage. 10 per cent of full-time and 40 per-cent of part-time workers earn less than the Living Wage.
The new UK and and London Living Wage rates for 2014-15 will be announced on Monday 3rd November, the start of UK's Living Wage Week 2014.
